Organic Farming

The Grace of Nature, A Healthy, Clean and Zero-Pollution Living

MELILEA’s exclusive range of functional organic products is made from naturally pure and clean vegetable, fruits, grains and herbs. They are grown in a zero-pollution fertile soil environment and the entire process of cultivation, harvesting, transportation, storage, processing and packaging are in line with the requirements and standards of zero-pollution. The selection of seeds and grains, varieties, environments, soil, water and air quality, latitude, temperature and sunlight undergo stringent and rigorous review and selection by our experts. All crops are cultivated on soil and in an environment according to their specific types, habitudes and properties. As such, all cultivated crops are zero-polluted and rich natural nutrients with natural therapeutic and health properties. Through Dr. Henry Chang’s professional research, these zero-polluted crops are developed into functional organic foods that are health-benefiting and superior qualities that are recognised worldwide.

Respects the Balance of Nature

Soil

Before a piece of land is use for organic farming, it needs to be left to fallow or uncultivated for three years. No remains of chemical contaminants and no chemical fertilizers and growth hormones are used.

Seed

Must be organic seeds and prohibit the use of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) seeds.

Fertiliser

The sources of organic fertilizers are from earthworm faeces, decomposed plant soil, composting wheat and rice, green manure, livestock waste, fully fermented fruits and vegetables.

Environment

No source of pollution within 30km. Buffer zones are built around organic farms to avoid environmental pollution and contamination from non-organic farms. Control imposed on peoples and cars going in and out of farm.

Water Source

Irrigation water must be from unpolluted source, standard water quality measurement will be carried out every day to ensure that is free from contamination, and the pH must be within standard parameter.

What are the Organic Standards?

  • Respect the natural primitive farming methods, and all respect for nature, protecting the environment is a basis concept apply in organic farming.
  • Organic cultivation of agricultural land must be left fallow for three to seven years to ensure that the natural organic matter in soil is not subjected to chemical damage.
  • Organic farmland is not only away from the hustle and bustle downtown, away from environmental pollution and it should be protected in the Buffer Zone, away from neighbour farm’s pollution
  • Eliminate use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, hormones, steroids and other chemicals.
  • Organic Food must-not be genetically modified (GMO).
  • Adopted the principles of the ecological balance of nature carrying out pest control, natural pest control method of capture For example: ladybug is a carnivorous insect that reduce crop damage by preying on pests.
  • Fertile organic soil is full of active micro-organisms and organic substances with excellent water retention capacity. The high utilisation rate of nitrogen and phosphorus promotes the healthy growth of crops.
  • Rotating cultivation is applied in organic farming to improve soil fertility, while maintaining the integrity of the physical structure of the soil.
  • Organic foods must undergo a series of strict quality control and production conditions before receiving organic certification issued by the government.
  • The use of chemicals, artificial colours, preservatives and stability agents in organic food are strictly prohibited from the process of planting, harvesting, processing, packaging and transporting.
